Every Child Deserves to Be Heard.
Some nights change you. Save Jane is one of them.
Each year, our community gathers, and we do one simple, powerful thing: we say their names. Not their real names, because we protect them. We say “Jane Doe.” We say “John Doe.” But we do not stop until every single child who walked through the doors of Northern Plains Children’s Advocacy Center has been given a voice.
In 2025, that was 565 children.

What Is Save Jane?
Save Jane is a community awareness event hosted by the Northern Plains Children’s Advocacy Center (NPCAC). It exists to honor every child who received services at our center in the past year by reading each of their placeholder names aloud — “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” — until all have been spoken.
The event is free and open to the public. No registration required to attend. All are welcome.
565 Reasons This Night Exists
Every child served by NPCAC has experienced some sort of abuse, trauma, or exploitation. Many came to us carrying something no child should ever have to carry. The services they received, forensic interviews, therapy, advocacy, and medical care, were made possible by this community.
Save Jane is our way of acknowledging that. Of saying, out loud and together: we see you. We know you were here. You matter.
It is not a fundraiser. It is not a gala. It is simply a moment of collective witness, and it is unlike anything else you will experience all year.
Become a Key Reader
The heart of Save Jane is our Key Readers: community members who volunteer to stand up and read names aloud. No experience necessary. Just a willingness to show up and speak.
Show Up. Stand With Us.
Come and stand with your community. Bring your family. Bring your coworkers. Bring someone who needs to see what it looks like when a town refuses to look away.
Refreshments will be available. The atmosphere is solemn, welcoming, and deeply human.
